Lucky Dog Pet Service

Do you use crates at your daycare?
We are an open-run facility. We use crates for brief time-outs, and for a 2 hour midday nap every day.

What are your hours?
We are open 7 days a week.
Monday- Friday: 7 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
We are closed from 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. every day for naptime

What shots must my dog have?
Updated rabies, distemper/parvo, and bordatella are the shots we require. You may have your vet fax your dog's records to us directly at
(773)866-2207.

What if my dog is injured during group play?
There is always a certain level of risk involved when dogs play together, and this is something you should be comfortable with when choosing daycare for your dog. For cuts and scrapes, we have first aid on hand. For more serious injuries, we will transport your dog to either your regular vet or the Chicago Emergency Clinic.

How do I sign up for daycare?
First we need to conduct a temperament test to be sure your dog is well suited to group play. You should bring your dog and your dog's vet records when you come to view the facility. We will let him get acquainted with some of our regulars for 10-15 minutes. You will need to fill out a registration form and customer contract and choose a payment plan.

What do I need to know about bringing my dog to daycare?
Dog must be spayed or neutered if older than 6 months of age. Also, all dogs in our care must wear a buckle or snap collar with ID tags at all times. No choke or prong collars will be allowed in the playroom or crates at any time.

I don't have a set schedule. Can my dog come to daycare sporadically?
You may come as often or as seldom as you like.

Where do the dogs sleep when they board overnight?
We use standard metal crates in various sizes. For their own safety, all dogs must be crated overnight. If your dog has never been crate-trained please let us know.

Should I bring my dog's bed?
You are welcome to bring a bed or blanket for your dog's crate. We do provide each dog with comfortable bedding.

What time can I drop off my dog for boarding?
Any time during our open hours. We are open 7 days a week.
Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturday-Sunday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
We are closed everyday between noon and 2 p.m. for naptime.

My dog does not play well with other dogs. Can he still board with you?
No, but we will be happy to refer you to another facility.
